About Mozart's Requiem and Marriage of Figaro

The world famous Requiem Mass in D Minor was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Vienna in 1791 and later completed in 1792. Vocal parts will be performed by opera singers and the Rochester Oratorio Society and dramatized in dance by the New York State Ballet dancers. Music will be performed by a professional live orchestra under the direction of Jared Chase, conductor.
Composed in 1786, The Marriage of Figaro is one of Mozart's best known and beloved operas. It is based on a stage comedy and tells how Figaro and Susanna succeed in getting married and foiling the efforts of their philandering employer Count Almaviva. These vignettes will be sung by opera singers accompanied by a live orchestra under the direction of Jared Chase, conductor.
